How to use a proxy with Kubernetes services

1. Use kubectl proxy for local API access

Run: kubectl proxy --port=8001. This exposes the Kubernetes API locally via a proxy at http://localhost:8001.

2. Create a Service proxy via an API server

You can access services in your cluster through the Kubernetes API: /api/v1/namespaces/{namespace}/services/{service}:{port}/proxy This is perfect for securely interacting with internal services without exposing them externally.

3. Set an external proxy for egress traffic

Configure proxy environment variables in your pods: env: - name: http_proxy value: http://user:pass@proxy-ip:port - name: https_proxy value: http://user:pass@proxy-ip:port Use our proxies to route outbound pod traffic to the internet securely and anonymously.
