2. How To Setup Requestrr

Following our detailed step-by-step guide on setting up Requestrr is the best way to begin your journey enjoying this amazing tool. However, before diving into the setup, depending on what you plan to use it for, ensure that you have the following in place:

  1. A computer or server to host Requestrr.
  2. Access to a chat platform like Discord.
  3. Access to a download service like Usenet.
  4. Access to a media server like Plex.

a. Windows Installation

  • Download the latest version of the Requestrr tool that matches your operating system here
  • After downloading the zip file, the next step is to extract the compressed file into your directory of choice. 
  • After extraction, run “Requestrr.WebApi.exe” to get the bot running. 
  • The next step is to go to your browser and paste “http://localhost:454/” to give you access to the web portal where you create an account.
  • Connecting Requestrr to Discord
  • Once you have access to the web portal, find the “Chat Clients”  page and click on it.
  • On Discord, find the “Discord Developer Portal” and log in.
  • Select “New Application” at the top right corner to create an application. 
  • Once created, an application ID will be found at the bottom of the page. You will need to copy the ID.
  • Go back to Requestrr, find the field for the “Application ID” field, and paste the copied ID there.
  • Find “Bot” on the left panel on the developer portal. Ensure both “Present Intent” and “Server Members Intent” under “Privileged Gateway Intents” are checked. 
  • Select “Reset Token” and confirm to reveal the token. 
  • Copy and paste the token into the “Bot Token” field on Requestrr.
  • Select the “Test Settings” button in the lower part of the page. 
  • Save changes.
  • On your Discord application, create a new server by clicking on the plus sign on the left panel. 
  • Back on the Requestrr website, select “Copy Invite Link” and paste it into your browser.
  • Select your server from the dropdown and give the required authorization.

That’s it! The bot has been added! You can test the bot by typing “/” in Discord, and a list of prompts will pop up. 

Using Requestrr With Radarr.

To integrate Requestrr with Radarr, carefully follow the following steps below:

  • Download Radarr here, then run as administrator.
  • On Requestrr, select “Movies” on the left-hand panel.
  • Click the dropdown and ensure it is enabled by selecting “Radarr.”
  • In the API field, ensure “Version 3” is selected.
  • Open Radarr in your browser, and go to “Settings” on the left-hand panel.
  • Select “General”. Then copy the API key found under “Security.” 
  • Check our Radarr handbook, to learn everything there is to know about it.
  • Go back to the Requestrr website and paste it into the API field. 
  • Input the host address for Radarr (Remember to remove the “http://”)
  • Go to Radarr’s settings, select “General,” then input Radarr’s base URL.
  • Input the same URL in the Base URL field on Requestrr. 
  • Select the “Test Settings” button at the bottom of the Requestrr page. You should get a confirmation response letting you know everything is good. 
  • Once completed, select the “Load” button and make your preferred selection.
  • Save your changes, and you are done.

Using Requestrr with Ombi

The process of integrating Requestrr to Ombi is quite similar to that of Radarr. Here are the detailed steps:

  1. Download Ombi here, extract the zip file, and run the application as administrator.
  2. Open your browser and paste “http://localhost:8989″ into it.
  3. Under “Settings” on the left panel, select “General.”
  4. Check our Ombi guide to learn everything there is to know about it.
  5. Scroll down to “Security” and copy the API key there.
  6. Go to the Requestrr page and paste the key in the API field.
  7. Ensure that the version is set to the preferred Version 3.
  8. In the Host or IP address field, input Ombi’s address.
  9. Go back to Ombi and find the Base URL field. Input the Base URL and ensure that the same URL is imputed on Requestrr under the Base URL field as well. 
  10. Select “Test Settings” and receive your confirmation. If you get any error response, crosscheck your process and try again.
  11. Once the settings have been updated, select “Save Changes.” That’s it; the bot is now ready for use.

Things to Note:

  • Requestrr allows each user to set their permissions when they integrate it with Ombi. This allows all Discord users to connect with Ombi users without interference. 
  • In the event a request is made, and no linked user is found, the default API set in Requestrr is then used. (The bot can automatically approve all requests if no manual API user is set). 

Linking Ombi to Discord 

Linking Ombi to Discord is a simple process that can be done in little time. All you need to do is:

  • Open the Discord settings and select “Advanced.”
  • Toggle the “Developer Mode” button on. 
  • Go back to Discord’s homepage and choose the user or channel you would like to link to Ombi. You can do this by right-clicking the user’s name and copying the ID. 
  • On the Ombi site, create a new user.
  • Select the new user’s notification preference and paste the copied ID in the Discord field.
  • Save the user, and that user can begin making requests through Ombi from Discord.

Integrating Sonarr into Requestrr

Just like the previous tools, you can integrate Sonarr into Requestrr by following the steps below:

  • Download Sonarr here, extract the zip file, and run the application as administrator.
  • Open your browser and paste “http://localhost:5000/” in it.
  • Under “Settings” on the left panel, select “General.”
  • Scroll down to “Security” and copy the API key there.

  • Ensure that the version is set to the preferred Version 3.
  • In the Host or IP address field, input Sonarr’s address.
  • Go back to Sonarr and find the Base URL field. Input the Base URL and ensure that the same URL is imputed on Requestrr under the Base URL field as well. 
  • Select “Test Settings” and receive your confirmation. If you get any error response, crosscheck your process and try again.
  • When confirmed, click on all the “Load” buttons.
  • Once the settings have been updated, select “Save Changes,” and the bot becomes ready for use. 

Integrating Requestrr With Overseerr
